Nothing positive. It was far from the photos: dirty, rundown, a filthy beach, broken items in the room, and many promised features missing; no bath towels, a broken toilet seat, a dirty private balcony, and a private jacuzzi that had no water.

It felt lifeless. The location was far from Negombo and there was no transport available outside the property.

The lighthouse sits in a very quiet, peaceful spot that’s perfect for unwinding. The staff were warm, friendly, and genuinely helpful throughout our stay. It’s right next to a lovely beach, has a decent-sized pool, and a nice garden that adds to the calm vibe. It isn’t a slick, ultra‑modern five‑star hotel, but it offers great value. Though a bit remote, it’s a convenient distance from the airport. Remember to book your Uber 20‑30 minutes ahead of time, because they can take a while to arrive.

The pool was amazing and the staff were very attentive. Our room was huge with an incredible sea view. We only stayed one night before flying back to the UK.

The property was well maintained with a beautiful sea view. The beach just outside the fence was untidy and rarely used, but the pool inside the property was large and clean. We stayed only one night, so impressions are limited, but overall it’s a nice, well‑kept place. It’s quite remote—we arrived by taxi and there are no shops or restaurants nearby, so you’ll need a taxi or your own transport to get anywhere. The host is very caring and helpful. The room and bathroom are very basic, with only the essentials; everything feels a bit worn and could use updating.
