The Esplanade Hotel, built in 1903, is situated in central Devonport with stunning waterfront views of the Waitemata Harbour. This historic hotel offers free Wi-Fi, public parking, and rooms equipped with tea/coffee facilities, iPod docks, and flat-screen TVs. Some rooms feature harbour views, and the Penthouse Apartment includes a full kitchen. It's 110 metres from the Devonport Ferry Terminal and a 20-minute drive from central Auckland.

The location was fantastic, surrounded by restaurants and perfect for long, beautiful walks, with the ferry departures and bus stop right in front of the hotel. The building needs renovation: old, damaged furniture, a hole in the balcony door, and poor cleaning. It has a lovely vintage look that unfortunately suffers from lack of care.

The location was excellent for my needs, the staff were pleasant and helpful, and local shops were easy to reach. The café/restaurant was not operating.
