“Convenient slightly overpriced location to visit Matera”

Located right in Laterza’s historic centre, about 30 km from Matera, the newly renovated room had an arched ceiling and a lovely bathroom. The downside was that the room was up a steep flight of stairs in a piazza, and a noisy restaurant outside played until 2 am, which could be heard despite the double windows. The host missed our booking confirmation, so the room wasn’t ready when we arrived, there were no bedside plugs, and the fridge was dirty and not working.

The property is renovated, well‑located, and offers some city views; it could be a 9 if they addressed a few simple issues. It lacks basic amenities, has poor decoration, and the blankets and duvets are old; fixing these three problems would raise the rating to 9.

“Mitten im beleben Zentrum”

The location is very good, right in the historic centre. Occasionally there were evening events, and the guests could be heard, but it was tolerable and not disruptive.
