The place is super quiet, not bothersome, and very clean—10 out of 10. The price‑quality ratio gives you exactly what you pay for, a safe, relaxed, and tidy stay. Communication with reception, however, is difficult.
The spot is spot‑on – right where you want to be and the rooms feel roomy enough. The only downside was the constant crawl of insects, especially spiders and ants that seemed to pop up everywhere.
“Má experiência”
The location itself is decent, but the house was swarmed with cockroaches, frogs, spiders and even lizards, and there were no glass panes or mosquito nets on the windows. Cleanliness left a lot to be desired, and the mattresses were ancient and rock‑hard.
“Lovely stay in Puerto Viejo”
Very nice experience. The place is a simple cabin surrounded by a green, rainforest‑like garden, with a good bathroom and kind hosts who offered me a Colombian sapote to try—delicious fruit. Luckily the property is only a few blocks from the car‑filled hub, and I caught the Mepe bus from Puerto Viejo to Manzanillo Reserve. The rainforest and sea are amazing; overall, great. The only downside is that all the food in Puerto Viejo is made with margarine, which feels poisonous, though you can find some organic options. Namu is a very good little shop, and the farmers market on Saturdays is excellent.
Nestled in the middle of the jungle, the place looks gorgeous and the rooms, while simple, are tastefully done and spotless. I couldn’t find a single thing to complain about – everything was just right.
