“Excelente alojamiento en un paraje espectacular”
The room size was good. The owner was flexible with the competition schedule we were in. There was no partition in the bathtub.

A rustic lodge set in a stunningly beautiful pastoral setting, perfect for a short escape, and the owners are exceptional. Getting there by car is a bit tricky because the passage space is small, so don't follow Google Maps.

The place is remote, high up in the mountains, and the Sanabria lake is a 40‑minute walk through a forest trail (watch out for fly swarms, bring a mosquito net hat). The owners gave no prior information on how to get the right access, so you end up on streets where cars barely fit because the GPS leads you wrong. The noise is terrible – the rooms are poorly insulated, so you hear everything: voices, doors, footsteps, TV, ventilation, even people peeing. I had a horrible night because a guest woke up in the middle of the night. I never got hot water even after 10 minutes of running; it was only lukewarm. I was so in a rush to leave the next morning that I didn't even try the breakfast, which wasn't ready until 9 am (the hours are 9–11 am, which I find too late). There was a water leak in the bathroom; I sent an email to the reception but received no reply.

I liked everything, but getting to the place was hard because you can't follow map directions.

A large, quiet room (when other guests stay down‑volume). The hosts lack warmth in their welcome, the bathtub is deteriorated with warped plywood, and the breakfast is not very filling—just toast, croissant, or chocolate bread, and it doesn't start until 9 am, which feels too late. The soundproofing is awful; you hear terrace guests or the neighbors’ TV. Parking signs are confusing depending on which side you arrive from. If you have a big car, note that this tiny hamlet has very narrow streets.
