A very special place to stay. Not the most comfortable, but that’s part of the experience. Would definitely recommend!

Such a unique place – magical in the most unexpected ways. Peaceful. Beautiful. Unusual. Animals all around and the kindest hosts. The only strain was reaching the hut – first by road, Tākaka Hill Highway is no joke, then on foot. The “short cut” walk up is quite treacherous in places. It’s an adventure, for sure – but only for those with sure footing. However, the host made sure to shuttle everything we needed to the hut and back to our car after our stay.
