Great location in the historic part of Bari, a simple room but everything functional and sufficient! The communication and friendliness from the host (Angela with her mother) were excellent. The stairs are steep, which is tough for less mobile people, but Angela helped with the luggage too.

“It was not nice, that even we had deal of the transport from the airport, no one was there.”

The apartment was neat and functional. The bathroom was spacious and beautiful. The host’s mother was friendly. The host offered to pick me up from the airport for a fee. I expected her to be there with my name on a sign, as usual. I had told the schedule twice, but she wasn’t there. She sent me a message while I was already on the plane and asked for the flight number—too late, I didn’t get it. Then I noticed that the internet wasn’t working on my phone. I felt unsafe because I was alone, no internet and no information about the situation. Never had this kind of experience! I called her and asked where she was. She hadn’t even left, and it took time to reach the airport. I tried to call many times because I couldn’t send WhatsApp messages. She didn’t answer, and when she did, she didn’t understand my simple question about whether she was inside or outside. When we finally arrived, she asked me to pay communal taxes for 3 nights and the transport. It was 26 € together; I had no change, gave bills but got nothing back. I did not receive a receipt. The next day the host said I must pay the taxes again. I said I had already paid. Soon the whole family argued about this. It was very difficult because none of them spoke any English. Later I said I could pay the taxes again if needed. The host said it was a misunderstanding but got nothing back. Many reviews praised the bottle of wine offered, but there was no wine for me.

“Maravilhosa!”

It’s an apartment in a building right in the heart of Bari Vecchia. The location couldn’t be better: close to the main sights, very near the beach and great restaurants. The apartment is very good, fully equipped with a mini kitchen, a very nice bathroom, everything clean and well organized. The owner is friendly and kind! She helped us with everything we needed, even carrying the luggage up and down the building stairs. She and her daughter took us to the airport early in the morning, charging the same as a taxi would. They were extremely punctual. Breakfast is left in the fridge and on the kitchen counter. Everything is well organized. The only tricky part was finding the building because the numbering is very different from ours and the street isn’t straight, so you get confused. A lady on her balcony offered to help and pointed out where the building was. Then a resident boy kindly located the owner. That part could be better organized to avoid hassles. But she is a wonderful and cheerful person, very willing to help.
