We got to the place and the owner said he never saw our booking, so we were turned away even though he had a free room that night. No one could explain it, and we had to leave.

The room was comfy and the owner’s two dogs were adorable. But the place felt more like a private club: the owner spent most of the day chatting with friends right next to our room, there was no Netflix or streaming, and the housekeeping was sloppy—no paper towels, we had to ask for them.

“Nice place to stay”

The place was nice and the staff were great, but we ran into a few snags: no body wash or water in the room, parking was tight, and there were a lot of stairs—though the staff helped with our bags.

“Luxuriöse Lage in Strandnähe”

This is the only hotel in the upscale area that offers budget rooms, and it’s in a perfect spot—just a walk (with a bit of a climb) to a beautiful, safe Pacific beach and close to the national park. The rooms have good air‑conditioning, Wi‑Fi, and the beds are excellent; there are two parking spots at the property or on the street.

The location was spot on, the room was clean and nice, but the hot water was a nightmare—always off unless we asked, and even when it turned on it only lasted a few minutes before it went cold again.
