The location is pretty and quiet, maybe too quiet for me. From the moment we arrived, owner AJ confronted us with the hotel rules, took my passport and flipped through every page, noting the Thai government’s request to verify the entry date. After checking into our rooms we went to the pool, where more rules awaited: no eating, drinking or smoking around the pool, no running, no jumping, shower before entering the water, etc. She mentioned installing seven cameras around the hotel and that she could view each on her phone. In the evening she took us to a beach with a typical Thai bistro that I liked. The next day she left for Koh Lanta and Phuket to party. When we wanted breakfast, staff told us there was no lunch because the owner was absent. Throughout our three‑night stay we had no lunch. We had to walk 10 minutes to find the first bistro. In the end, I felt more like I belonged elsewhere. I felt watched everywhere, like at a command post. We were glad to leave an hotel that didn't suit us at all.
