The owner is well-traveled, kind, and attentive, always offering recommendations. I enjoyed my stay a lot and can only recommend it. The showers are great, as are the bathrooms. The room was clean and fully prepared when I arrived. For my travel style it was fine, but it wasn’t fully equipped if you plan to cook for yourself.

Everything was perfect! The facilities were exceptionally clean, the beds were spacious and comfortable, and the location was great. The owner is wonderful and creates such a fun and friendly vibe. If you’re lucky enough to be there when he hosts a hot pot night, make sure you join in—he’s an amazing cook too!

The hostel was perfect – the beds are spacious, comfy, and when it’s cold you can grab the thick blankets that the room provides. The common area feels super cozy, and all the basic hostel amenities are there. Showers stay clean and well kept too. The owner, who runs the minka house alone, is friendly and ready to help or give city tips. Matsumoto is beautiful, and staying at the minka house was a great choice for my trip. Nothing was wrong; everything was fine!
