We had a really beautiful room. The tower was a quiet place to sit. The only downside was that there was no shower—just a bath, which was the only thing that bothered us.

Our stay at Chateau Herálec was very pleasant. We especially loved the extremely comfortable bed, the quietness, the more than plentiful breakfast, and most of all the very friendly and attentive care from Philipp.

The food tasted great, the breakfast was nice, and the spa was excellent. However, the spaces could use a lot more castle atmosphere; the corridors were empty, the library had old books that cost a few crowns in antiques, and the staff should really taste the food and wine so their recommendations aren’t so rehearsed. The restaurant needs to reduce noise, maybe with tapestries, rugs, and paintings. The owners are very diligent with details, but the castle still feels like a copy‑cat unless those details are finished.
