“An atmospheric water mill with kayaking adventure”

This place is an absolute gem. The hosts clearly put a lot of effort into making the stay enjoyable, and we felt very well cared for. It’s not your typical hotel; the accommodation has many stairs and mill equipment, and everything is kept as clean as possible given that it really is a working mill with a sandy river shore. The bedroom had air conditioning and very comfortable mattresses. The downstairs living area was a bit hot, so we just took our meals outside, which was much more pleasant. The kitchenette is minimal—just a fridge, a microwave, and a capsule coffee machine—which is enough for a light meal. We were supplied with plenty of towels (very handy for kayaking) and fresh cutlery and plates as needed. The real highlight is the option to borrow kayaks or bikes. We went kayaking twice during the day and saw plenty of wild birds, even though the kids made excited noises all the way. I’d recommend it to anyone who doesn’t mind the unusual setting and wants a break close to nature. The only drawback was getting bitten by midges—remember your bug spray!

The former watermill’s location is wonderful, and the hosts provide friendly, uncomplicated service. Overall, it’s very quiet and relaxing.
