The location was beautiful, but we couldn’t dine in the restaurant because we weren’t warned in advance that reservations were required.
“Edles Hotel an schöner Lage”
The hotel has a great garden and a nice location. Dinner was very tasty but also rather pricey. Deciding to have dinner at the hotel turned into almost a drama because we didn’t know in advance that only one menu would be prepared upon reservation. That menu was, however, extremely delicious. The breakfast buffet was very organized and included blueberries as the only fruit, with otherwise limited choices, but it was cleaned up very promptly.
The surroundings were fantastic, and the castle itself was beautiful.

The parking was very cramped and a bit annoying, but the location was outstanding and the eco‑commitment was brilliant. The SMS with the door‑code was unclear, and the QR‑code info about the hotel was insufficient. In an email the hotel described the restaurant as cozy, yet it felt more like a gymnasium. Worse still, the acoustics were terrible; at the different tables there were apparently participants from a training company who were laughing loudly, which made it impossible for us and our companion to have a relaxed conversation. The hotel’s main building has many nice and stylish rooms—why aren’t they used for serving food? We had to wait at least 45 minutes for the main course, and the very friendly waiter offered a compensation of red wine or coffee, which we declined. After a tiring evening we simply couldn’t enjoy it any more.
The location is fantastic and the garden is lovely; the place pays attention to every detail.
