“It was a wonderful hotel with kind staff.”
Close to the port but far enough away that it was peaceful. The area we were in needs outdoor lighting that stays on at night to illuminate the path to the doorway.
“Wanted to say another few days”
Excellent historical building. Not ideal if you have issues
“Séjour parfait”
The absolute calm even in the middle of August and the beauty of the establishment.
“Perfect place to stay on Hydra”
Yannis was incredibly helpful with his advice on which spots of Hydra to visit. The beach suggestions were most useful. We could always trust that he was available if we needed any advice, but he left us to our own devices. The later breakfast was perfect for us because we were happy to have a relaxed morning before breakfast. The property was beautiful, we felt so at home and will return one day. Nothing.
“Belle demeure très bien située, mais manque de professionnalisme hôtelier”
The hotel sits right in the heart of Hydra, free from street noise or the early‑morning church bells that start at 7 am, and the historic building is beautiful with a pleasant room/suite and a lovely garden. They even let us check in at 11 am instead of the usual 15 pm since I was already on site. However, the private jacuzzi we booked looks nothing like the website photos: the wooden deck is worn, the two large Fatboy‑style cushions are dirty and merely cover a shabby wooden hatch, and the terrace wasn’t cleaned, so I had to top up the water myself because the level was too low. When I mentioned it at reception, the only reply was “Yes, we know.” Staff were almost never present, which was surprising. Breakfast tables (only six) weren’t cleared between seats, so each morning I ate surrounded by leftovers and dishes from previous guests, which was unpleasant, and the hot water for morning tea came from a thermos that seemed intended for coffee.
