The breakfast was just within French customs, but we expected more; the location fit our family visit perfectly, yet Ballon is a very small village with almost nothing for foreigners to do. Our accommodation was on the first floor, which we couldn't tell from the listing. A very narrow spiral staircase made it almost impossible for me to reach the top (one of my knees is on the waiting list for replacement). Luckily the owner was willing to bring the suitcase upstairs, something I never managed on my own.
