I stayed 5 nights at Hotel Ridder during a small fair in Halle. The large room with balcony was well equipped and the bed very comfortable. The somewhat small shower room was clean and tidy. The parking directly at the hotel was free and large enough for my van. During my stay there were problems with the Wi‑Fi or internet, but that can be fixed quickly. All in all a pleasant, quiet hotel with good value for money.

Good value for money, friendly staff, and large rooms. The only issue was a lot of mosquitoes, and the place feels a bit dated.

The hotel feels a bit old but still charming. Our balcony room was spacious and clean, and the host couple were very friendly. Unfortunately, the wellness area, including the pool, was closed—apparently for a long time—yet it’s still advertised on the hotel’s own website, which I find unacceptable. We booked specifically for the pool! If you value wellness or a pool, double‑check with the hotel before booking to avoid disappointment. There was also construction noise from a nearby site, even on Saturday, which the hotel couldn’t control. The location has potential, but it needs investment and modernization.

Breakfast was simple but entirely sufficient: coffee, juice, fresh rolls, a bit of sausage and cheese, plus Nutella and jam. The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was fine for two nights, the bed comfortable, and the bathroom good. The setting was quiet and the surroundings lovely. Good location, and a variety of restaurants within about 2 km. The downside: the booked double room had a different setup than described. We had no balcony, the pool was present but dry—neither mentioned in the description. The advertised flat‑screen TV with streaming services was also missing, and the Wi‑Fi was not internet‑capable during our stay.

I want to thank the staff for making my brother and me feel as welcome as our dogs. We were treated to a lovely breakfast even though we were the only guests. We had an open, honest conversation with the senior chef. All the best, especially health for his wife.
