“Péssima experiência.”
Unfortunately, there was absolutely nothing we liked. Starting with the stated location, about 300 meters before the actual place, and the property has no sign in front with its name; instead there’s a travel agency sign. Entering the room we found something completely different from the photos: dirty, poorly maintained, many hairs on the floor, the shower pipe was crooked and sprayed water onto the wall, hair clogged the shower drain and sink drain, a dead cockroach next to the bed, a lot of dust in the room, mold on the bathroom wall. The bathroom toilet paper looked like it had fallen on a wet floor and dried, yellowed and swollen. We booked 5 nights. Because we arrived late and knew nothing about Manaus, we slept there that night, but immediately that same night I booked another place via Booking and the next morning started the cancellation process. When Booking informed the host of my cancellation, the owner knocked on my room door, along with a cleaning lady and a woman who worked there (the only decent one). They invaded the room, claiming it had been cleaned, unpacking, etc. My wife was very scared; I thought it might become a police case, asked them to wait until we left to enter, they left, the owner said I’d have to pay him a night, I said I’d already paid via Booking and he kept insisting until he gave up. About 10 minutes after they left, the water “ended.” Immediately after, before the night’s charge even ran, I called an Uber and we left the room hoping everything would be fine.
