The central spot is perfect for a tourist stay, the owner greeted us flawlessly and offered a customized breakfast on request, but the apartment likely hasn’t been renovated lately – the bathroom bidet was loose from the floor and there was no hot water, probably because of an old‑generation boiler. A good tip is to use hot water early and then let the boiler warm up for a few hours.

Casa Mancini is a very nice place where the view justifies the price. The house is very simple, but it works well for sleeping at night. The host was very kind and asked what we wanted for breakfast so he could serve it the next morning. It was fun chatting with him, though it might be better to be more discreet; some guests might just want quiet or to talk with their travel companion. I appreciated the focus on energy and resource savings – the cold water from the shower comes before the hot one, and you can put it in a bucket to water the many outdoor plants. To reach our accommodation on the building’s solarium, we walked up two stair ramps, which is worth noting for those with bulky luggage. If we’d wanted to use the small kitchen, we’d have to clean everything; it’s all new and still has tags. The fridge was off, just so anyone who needs it can tell the owner to turn it on in time. I’d remove items from the kitchen drawers that shouldn’t be there, like leftover screws or assembly instruction booklets. The terrace has incredible potential and should be tidied up, and the cactus pots with spines were moved from the path.

The restoration looks great, with furniture that mixes antiques and modern pieces tastefully chosen, but the only downside was that my room didn’t have an air‑conditioner, which I needed at the start of September.
