Residenza Gonzaga

“Ottimo”

Cozy, new, clean, and fully equipped. Gianluca, the host I was in touch with before arrival, was very attentive and helpful, even showing an uncommon understanding of flight delays and mishaps. Recommended if you need accommodation in the center of Mantua. I stayed only one night.

“Great location for exploring Mantua with a very communicative host.”

The spot is right in the heart of Mantua, just a stone's throw from every landmark and eatery. The host was super friendly and kept the check‑in hassle‑free. The room itself was tidy with the basics, and we had a key to a private external bathroom in the shared corridor. On the downside, a portable toilet right outside the apartment door made it impossible to keep the shutters open because of the odor. Also, double‑check which unit you book—this one was just a room without any cooking gear, whereas other units seemed better equipped.

The front door on the street and the steep, poorly defined access stairs are not a sign of good hospitality. Room 1 on the first floor is clean but bland, with a large Ikea bookshelf holding only three fake books and a wardrobe. The small TV sits on the desk; if you want it on, you have to decide how to set it up. In the middle of a wall hangs a stopped clock. Light is limited despite two windows, so the lighting fixtures need more attention. The big bed is utterly generic and could use a touch of personality. The bathroom is clean and well supplied. For the type of room and property, with no color scheme (just a small water bottle on a turned‑on fridge that’s empty), I think the value for money is unfavorable.

“Soggiorno molto piacevole”
