The mansion is beautiful, restored, and sits on lovely park-like grounds in the town center with easy access to Augusta and Aiken. John, the manager, was helpful and friendly.

The house is gorgeous with nice rooms that have air conditioning. The owner provided a fridge in the room and also arranged a coffee maker, which was very thoughtful.

The dining room was gorgeous, making breakfast a real pleasure. John, Mary, and the rest of the staff went above and beyond to accommodate us, the wedding party, and the guests for my son’s wedding, and we’re deeply grateful for their hospitality and assistance with the event.

We were so eager to give Lookaway Inn an 11 or 12 instead of just a 10 (see next comment box). The Inn itself is a magnificent facility, and its location couldn't have been more convenient. John, the Innkeeper, was extremely cordial and welcoming, even though we arrived half an hour late. I thoroughly enjoyed our baseball discussion, and the breakfast ladies were incredibly friendly. We miss the traditional pre‑Covid Bed and Breakfasts where the wonderful breakfast was served. Based on the pictures and the comments in , we expected a wonderful sit‑down breakfast, but we were underwhelmed. On the plus side, the omelet I was served was outstanding, yet having my breakfast entree served on a side plate with nothing else was a real disappointment. That omelet deserved hash browns (grits for real Southerners) and some bacon strips. There was a buffet table of cold items, but even that was sparse. I realize that there were very few guests, but still… Overall, we had a great time, though, and would consider returning in the future.
