“It was not the best experience.”
I had no positives to mention. I mistakenly thought a low‑rated hotel would be fine since we were arriving late and only needed a one‑night stay, but that was wrong. I’d read that the city center was closed for a festival and a stage show, and that’s what happened during our stay. A huge stage was right in the main square with a massive crowd, and the hotel entrance was directly opposite it. We couldn’t find the parking area and couldn’t reach the hotel by car. I called several times, but the staff spoke only Hungarian and no English, insisting there was parking but never explaining where or how to get there. I also messaged through the booking platform but got no useful reply. In the end we had to find parking ourselves and walk to the hotel. When we finally arrived, we had booked two rooms, but the staff first tried to put us in one. After some reluctance they finally gave us the two rooms we’d booked, but the rooms were in terrible condition—very old, worn out, and unpleasant. We felt extremely uncomfortable and just wanted to leave as soon as possible the next morning. Overall, a very disappointing experience, and I would not stay here again.
