The Fountain Hotel is situated in Hawes, a market town within the Yorkshire Dales National Park. This hotel offers free parking and complimentary WiFi access throughout. They had a room at short notice. I left a shaver in the room and it was not handed back. I know 100% it was left. In phoning to check I was not left feeling that it was treated with any intent to follow up on it

The breakfasts were tasty with a good variety. Choosing the night before meant the service was very quick, which is great when you have a tight schedule. My bedroom was cozy and the bed very comfortable. All staff were very helpful.

Nice location in the Dales and the breakfast was fine. You have to indicate that on the choice form the night before. You’re transported back to the 60s/70s in terms of room and bathroom. It feels like staying with an old family member in a cramped room that hasn’t been modernised or improved over the years, and it even smells that way. There’s no place to leave two suitcases. The bathroom was once modern in the 70s, but now looks worn, poorly maintained and not very clean. That’s unnecessary for an “old” pub. The price‑quality ratio of £290 for two nights with breakfast is off. It’s a shame for what it could be in such a beautiful setting.

This is a “pub with rooms” rather than a full hotel. The downstairs pub was great – beer, food and atmosphere. The breakfast in the morning was very good. Staff were friendly and helpful. Parking just outside was free. The staircase and corridors to the rooms were narrow, and the room and bathroom were very small with barely any space to put anything down.

A man at breakfast was exceptionally friendly and full of humor while working. The location is central and there's a nice pub nearby. In our room the beds were very short and the headboards clanged loudly. The rooms show a backlog of renovations. The toilet glass was sharp‑edged and caused cuts. A decent wardrobe is missing and the breakfast menu was very one‑dimensional.
