“Decevant”
I booked for a family of two adults and two children, but ended up in a single room that only had three single beds, so my 6‑year‑old son and I had to share a bed meant for one person.

We were two families (four adults, a baby, and a 12‑year‑old girl) and had to book a room because many hotels said they had no rooms for a 12‑year‑old when we indicated her age on Booking; we finally split, taking another hotel for the baby and the Delfín Verde for the other family because we knew the area and the price seemed reasonable, a big mistake. On arrival we discovered there were only two single beds. I called to add a bed, but the receptionist was unpleasant and rude, telling me “he’s been traveling all his life and that whenever you travel with kids you have to call before booking to make sure there’s a bed,” which is false. Booking asks for children’s ages for a reason. The rule is simple: a baby fits in a crib or the parents’ bed, so a double room is fine; a 12‑year‑old needs her own bed, and the hotel should either say no availability or offer an extra bed for a fee, as other hotels on Booking did. That option never appeared during booking. In the end the girl had to sleep with one of the parents on a single bed in an uncomfortable way because no extra bed was offered. On top of that the room was old and not especially clean. There was also a nest of pigeons at the window and they kept pecking the glass. When we reported this, the hotel replied “that’s impossible” and didn’t even try to check it. A lamentable experience from start to finish.

The price is reasonable, but there was no microwave to warm milk for babies, and the towels, although washed, smelled very bad.

The staff were very attentive and friendly, but there was a bit of street noise, which didn’t affect the hostel’s services.

The window with its curtain and the sea views from the beach in Almería were great, and the terrace of the Hostal Delfín Verde had letters written on it, a canopy, and a dolphin decoration. The cleaning was poor: the plastic curtains were soaked with water, the floor was wet, and they used a mop towel, which was awkward.
