Clean and simple. At the front door on the first floor, the host opened a small window and said something in Korean, to which I replied I didn’t understand. Seeing that window reminded me of Soviet times when interactions were limited, simplified, and standardized. I stayed in Sokcho for one day during rain, the temperature dropped, and the house felt noticeably cool; I asked the host to turn on the underfloor heating, but before she responded I turned on the heater.

The pictures were accurate. The room and bathroom were very nice and spacious. It’s very close to the beach, the lake, and the town buses.
