The location was perfect—just a short walk from the city centre yet still in a calm area. The room came with a fridge, electric kettle, plenty of tea and coffee, a heater, and a fan, so you have everything you need. There’s a decent bar downstairs. On the downside, there were no toiletries, and a tiny bar of soap would have made a difference; also, there was a noticeable shower-sink smell that wasn’t felt behind closed doors.

The view was beautiful; you really feel like you’re in Schiedam.

I never stayed there because they claimed a wrong price was listed. The money I had booked was still charged. I was uncertain whether the stay would happen and reached out to the accommodation three days in advance. A day before, they said I could come with an additional payment of 60 euros.

The bed was comfortable, the little balcony was nice and the room was fairly spacious, but there was no soap or shampoo, the balcony ashtray wasn’t emptied, there was no bedside lamp, and unfortunately there was no private bathroom, which I already knew.
