“Newly renovated but still smells of smoke and doesn’t feel safe”
The newly renovated property was a plus, and I didn’t hear any construction noise despite the prior notice that it might happen; however, the first room I entered had a strong cigarette smell that gave me a headache, forcing me to switch rooms, and a disorderly man caused trouble with the only female staff, leading her to call the police, which made me feel unsafe as a solo traveler; later that afternoon I found all the locks on my door were jammed, so a maid had to use her keys to let me in, another inconvenience that left me uneasy, and overall I wouldn’t stay here again.
“Never again”
The location was fine, but the room wasn’t cleaned properly; we woke up to a room full of ants, even in our belongings, and were also woken by a fight outside our room while we slept, making the experience awful.
“will be looking for a different location for our next several trips to visit our daughter at college”
The Bed was comfortable and the pool was nice. It started with 2 towels for 4 people and took 3 times of asking for more to get them. The floor was dirty, coffee machine for breakfast did not work and the one day it did work, no creamer. No pool towels
“We will continue to stay at La Quinta in the future when in the Thousand Oaks Newberry Park area”
After staying at this La Quinta many times over the years, it’s nice to see the updated rooms, but the door to room 112 didn’t hang properly and was very difficult and loud to open and close.
“I don't plan on staying again unfortunately.”
The location was great, just a short walk from Cal Lutheran University, which was why I came. The swimming pool was nice. However, the first room we got had ants in the bathroom and the toilet started backing up into the shower; our neighbors had the same issue. We were moved to a different room, which was better because the door wouldn’t lock from the outside when closed. The waffles at breakfast were soggy and the serving area was too small.
