The hotel’s location in the Cabo de Gata reserve with its lovely beaches and close proximity to the pool was a nice perk during the heatwave, and the terrace in front of the room was a pleasant spot. The accommodation itself was only basic, which matched the description, but the constant power cuts made it hard to stay comfortable, especially with the ineffective air‑conditioning in the high temperatures. We had to eat by the light of our phones, there was no potable water on site, and the pool area lacked a shower. Also, keep your luggage light because there’s no car access near the property.

The cortijo is beautiful, surrounded by trees, olive, pear, almond, fig trees and cacti. We had one of the pools almost to ourselves, which we enjoyed after a full day at the beach. It’s well connected to the surrounding villages and the best beaches. The back door gives direct access to the village, where we ate great breakfasts and dinners at restaurants. The owners and staff were very pleasant. One neighbour gave us olives from the cortijo that he had pickled himself. The room was spacious, with a basic kitchen, and we had two very comfortable double beds. The antique décor and furniture added to the authentic experience. We spent a very peaceful weekend. Thank you.

If you’re looking for a place to unwind and rest, and that’s also close to San José and the wonderful beaches of Los Genoveses, El Barrancal, Monsul, … this is the ideal spot. It was exactly what I was looking for.
