“Responsive host, but a room I couldn't sleep in”

The host was quick to reply, but the overall experience was disappointing. The AC failed to cool; the room stayed hot all night and I couldn't sleep, so I checked out around 4 AM without any fix or compensation. The floor was wet and slick, covered in a creamy residue that looked like leftover cleaning chemicals, making it feel unsafe to walk. Check‑in was also frustrating: the listing said self‑check‑in, yet I was told to message the property on WhatsApp and was just looped back to the same instructions, wasting time after a long trip.

Parking inside the property is a plus (no other guests bring cars), and the coffee and bukhoor are nice touches; the staff were informative and helpful.

The accommodation has very clean rooms and is very quiet, located near two shopping malls. The value for money was excellent. We were surprised to find out it was a residential building with rented rooms and no staffed reception. The main entrance was locked, so we were initially unsure how to get in. A WhatsApp contact with the landlord who sent pictures clarified everything. A proactive set of access photos would have helped.
