The room was basic but spotless, and the location is a 10‑15 minute walk to both the lake and the city centre. Breakfast was generous, and the staff were extremely helpful and polite.

We asked for a room change and the staff obliged without any fuss. The first room, however, was infested with insects, the mosquito net didn’t cover the entire bed, and the AC was broken. Cleanliness was mediocre overall, but it was acceptable for a single night.

The breakfast was good, and you could request extra items if needed. It was nice to have a lounge area with a few stools and a table. The bathroom was unhygienic; the sink leaked, the towels were very rough, and after drying, half of a towel would still hang on you. The mosquito net didn’t fit over the bed.

Nothing special, maybe the mosquito nets above the beds. I can’t understand the high ratings because the room was cramped, the bed linens were dirty, the walls were grimy, the AC didn’t work, the laundry service left new stains on my clothes, the bathroom was covered in black mold, and the water pressure was awful. Kandy feels overrated—more of a tourist trap than a real destination.
