“Comfy and tranquil”

The staff were friendly and welcoming and very accommodating. The hotel is very neat and has a comfy feeling to it. It sits along the river, which we love, creating a nice tranquil feeling. The buffet breakfast was delicious and we loved the variety; the pizza was great, and I'd go back just for the pizza. The Wi‑Fi was surprisingly good; I did some online gaming while there and it held up nicely. The water pressure in the shower was a bit low but not terrible, and it takes a while to warm up, so give it a good five minutes before jumping in. There are no smart TVs, so no Netflix or DStv, but that didn't bother us much because we had our PS5 for entertainment in the room; this is a personal preference and others might enjoy not having much technology for a weekend away.

“A historic hotel with stunning views that does not disappoint”

The views over the river are stunning, and we also enjoyed a wonderful early supper on the bar terrace overlooking the kitchen garden. The rooms were spotlessly clean and had everything needed for a comfortable overnight stay. Every member of the team was very friendly, and nothing was too much trouble. We only had one night at the hotel; we should have booked longer!

The facilities were great and clean, and the river‑edge pool was really cool. The buffet breakfast was good, though the place is a bit far from the restaurants—just a 5‑minute or less drive. The riverside location is very pretty.
