“A beautiful village, one we have known all our lives, a little more effort pub could be wonderful.”

Breakfast was fine and we liked having fresh milk available for our own drinks, but the milk in the small fridge was good the first morning and then went sour the second, never being replaced for the rest of our stay. The back iron stairs had uneven levels that could be a bit dangerous after dark, even though light was provided, except at the bottom gate. The handle on the bottom gate kept falling off, making it hard to find in the dark; all these small issues could easily be fixed.

“Excellent, but avoid the rooms facing the road”

Convenient and comfortable. Excellent breakfast and dinner. Our room faced the road at the front, so it was noisy—people were leaving the pub at night and deliveries and bin collection happened early in the morning.

A welcoming village pub that’s a great place to stay. The breakfast is first class, and there is a very good selection of food in the evening.
