The Mayflower at Austerfield

“While the room was comfortable, it was not how we expected to spend our evenings.”

Loved the area, the setting of the Mayflower. Room was a comfortable size, and had the basic amenities. Cleanliness of the shower - had mold on the walls! Also, was not informed that the property was totally closed from 5pm Sunday, all day Monday and Tuesday. Therefore, we were unable to have an evening meal on those 3 evenings while staying there. We also wrongly assumed while the property was closed, that there would still be room service, ie. clean towels, quick clean around, but there was not. We found later a booklet showing a phone number to call should we require service, and a list of local eateries and food deliveries. It would have been nice had there been at least a mini fridge, so we could have kept drinks and food in

“Extremely disappointing”

The location worked for me, but I booked a room at an “upmarket gastropub” hoping for a good meal after a 10‑hour drive, only to find the bar and restaurant closed that evening and no breakfast the next morning. The room needed a thorough dusting, and the mattress and pillows were old and poor. Customer service reached out online after check‑in, asked for a review and a description of the issues, then never followed up again.

The staff were great, the pub lovely, the food excellent, and the room comfortable.

“Doncaster stay”

The location and the pub staff were polite, though the bed was a bit lumpy; otherwise we had a lovely stay.
