The location was ideal for a quiet retreat yet close enough to Thirsk and Ripon for a day trip; staff were lovely and very helpful. The outdoor area is a real perk when the weather’s good, featuring an outdoor bar, pizzas, and a fish-filled water feature, plus ample free parking. Breakfast was good, but the only issue was that when we went to eat, we had to stand and wait for a table to be set up even though many tables were empty. Also note there’s no lift and rooms are upstairs, which didn’t bother us but might be inconvenient for some.

I had a fantastic stay at the Angel Inn: the staff were friendly and helpful, rooms were clean and cozy, and the location was great. The large pub had a lovely garden, was well maintained, and the interior was beautiful. The team did an excellent job. Dinner was exceptional, and breakfast offered plenty of choices.
