The hotel was tidy and the staff were welcoming, but the room I got had no balcony and no view of the lake, only a view of the parking lot. I think some rooms do have a lake view.

The inn sits midway between the airport and the Abu Simbel temple, right across from a public bus stop, which is handy for budget travelers—walking from the airport to the inn or from the inn to the temple takes about 20–30 minutes, and the bus to Aswan at 1 pm costs roughly 200 EGP. Since it was my first solo trip, I eventually booked a $100 private car (in great condition with comfortable AC) back to Aswan. The host was very friendly, English was no problem, and he sold sound‑and‑light show tickets at the regular price of 1000 EGP (about $20). The show started at 8 pm. Because we left for the temple at 4 am the next day to see the “light miracle,” we returned around 9 pm, and the inn had prepared a hearty breakfast box plus fresh‑baked flatbread. I spent a short but wonderful time there; although I thought the room rate was a bit high, it’s still far cheaper than nearby lodging during the Light Festival, and the cleanliness, bed comfort, and AC were acceptable. I’d recommend it to anyone attending the Light Festival on a tight budget.

The hotel sits right in the bustling part of Abu Simbel town, surrounded by plenty of restaurants, kiosks and a nearby market, making walks feel safe. The staff were extremely friendly and eager to help, even letting us buy tickets for the sound‑and‑light show at the same 1000 EGP price as the temple. Unfortunately, the windows let a lot of noise in, and the electric water heater wasn’t turned on before we arrived, so after the show we returned freezing and without a hot shower, which left us coughing all night. We also had to sleep without slippers.

I was thoroughly impressed with the hotel's central location, being just a 2-kilometer walk to the temples. The staff, particularly Muhidfin, went above and beyond to ensure our comfort, even walking with us almost to the temples on our first day and preparing tea for us when we were feeling under the weather. Our room was spotless, and the rest of the staff were equally friendly and helpful. It's clear that the hotel prioritizes its guests' well-being.

We had an outstanding experience at this hotel, thanks to the exceptional service provided by the gentleman who runs the place. He and the rest of the staff were incredibly kind and helpful, making our stay truly unforgettable. The hotel itself is well-furnished and clean, and we felt right at home. While it's worth noting that the hotel is located next to a mosque, the call to prayer is a common sound in the area, and we found it to be a minor inconvenience.
