“menschlich enttäuschend”
We ended our three‑week Andalusia trip with a stay from 25 to 26 September 2026 at Hipotels Barrosa Park in Chiclana. The night before we left, my wife and I both fell ill with a high‑fever infection, around 39 °C. We were seriously unwell. Our flight from Jerez was at 18:15, so we asked the front desk if we could stay in our room until about 14:00, just two extra hours beyond normal check‑out, to rest in a protected, lying position until departure. The reception’s response was very disappointing. The only option offered was to lie in the sun by the pool while we had 39 °C fever. I specifically requested to speak with the manager, hoping he would find a special solution given the extreme health situation. The receptionist refused, saying the manager would say the same. That attitude was very disheartening. We understand hotels have a standard check‑out time and that late check‑outs might be impossible when fully booked, but with two seriously ill guests we expected at least a serious attempt to find a solution—perhaps a suitable room, a paid extension, or another way to spend the last hours before departure without having to be sick outside. The severity of my wife’s illness became clear after we returned to Germany. On the return flight I had to confirm to the captain, as a doctor, that despite her very poor condition.
