“Lovely traditional home in quiet town, with bus to Sounkyo for gorge and mountain. Train station is.”
The neighbourhood is very quiet, the house is traditional, clean and functional, with clear instructions for everything, 17 minutes to the train station and 5 minutes to the bus to Asahikawa, plenty of nice restaurants and a vegetable shop, a community café and a co‑working space, and the rent is clearly cheap for artists, which is lovely; I was cold and asked for an extra blanket, which arrived the next day. First impressions were that it was run down, the garden was wild, the insect screen needs repair, there was a drizzle of washing‑up liquid (though a new one was replaced the day before I left), and there were no instructions for the heater or washing machine.
“Tolle Unterkunft in einer tollen Umgebung”
The accommodation was very clean, had a good layout with three rooms, the bed was very comfortable, and laundry could be done on site, which is very convenient; many great hikes are nearby, and I would gladly return.
“いい宿です”
I stayed at Taisetsu Art Stay instead of Ainu lodge because of the hotel’s schedule, and it felt very cozy, clean, and comfortable.
“イイ意味で意外~!!!”
The location was very quiet, the room was spacious, the few guests made it feel easy to use the facilities, and I could relax; I was nervous because there was no local staff, but after staying I found it very comfortable.
“무난했습니다.”
The price was reasonable and parking was convenient, but there was only one toilet and one shower, which was somewhat inconvenient, the area was very dark at night making it hard to find the accommodation, and because no staff or host stayed on site it was somewhat uncomfortable.
