“Superb getaway, back to nature with fantastic facilities and hosts!”
Two city workers from Glasgow and Newcastle found a perfect weekend escape at the yurt (Woody). The private shower had great pressure, the composting loo worked well, and the stand‑alone kitchen was impressive. At night we used the communal BBQ area and the fire pit, which was lovely for mingling with other guests, while our own private seating area was handy when we wanted privacy. For a small fee we also enjoyed the log‑fired sauna, a nice break on Saturday afternoon. Kerry and Terry were fantastic hosts, striking the right balance between attentiveness and giving us space to relax. They’ve done a brilliant job with the site and hopefully it stays that way. The only gripe: a gas grill or charcoal‑based BBQ would have been better than the flat grill plate.
We really enjoyed staying in a yurt, which was a new experience for us. We enjoyed using the log burner and toasting marshmallows over the fire pit. Also feeding the chickens every morning! The accommodation was very clean when we arrived. The owners were on hand to help with questions
“A great getaway to unplug for a while”
It was a great, peaceful getaway not far from the coast and larger cities for day trips. The facilities were high quality, and the hosts were very helpful, friendly, and accommodating.

The weather let us sit outside on the provided seating, we stocked up the little fire while inside the yurt, and the clean BBQ facilities were well thought out—ideal after so many nights in ordinary accommodation houses. The only downside was the sofa bed, which was very hard to sleep on, but we had a hiking mattress that made it more comfortable.
