Choosing the right place was the highlight of my Xiamen trip – Lanqin Guchou. Unlike the generic “influencer” guesthouses around, this is a genuine Minnan ancestral home, restored with incredible detail while still feeling lived‑in. The rooms are high‑end in design, the layout sensible and the flow smooth. What surprised me most was how spotless the entire house was; even the wooden floors and under‑bed areas were dust‑free, truly “one‑dust‑clean.” The bathroom was meticulous, with hot water, good pressure and a washbasin setup that rivals a luxury hotel. The tea area was stunning, photo‑ready, and the public spaces included a self‑service laundry – very convenient. The front desk staff were on call instantly, warm and attentive. The owner himself is very friendly, and you can sense his passion for this old house. Highly recommend!
