The owner is the kindest person you’ll ever meet. Sitting at the picnic table on the veranda is wonderful. Wando is unique: the pinnacle of countryside at the end of the world. Sleeping on a thin mattress on the floor isn’t for everyone, but there is also a house with a bed (double price). We had trouble finding the location and the owner eventually picked us up from the village.

“It’s a lovely place to stay, very kind hosts, and it’s so peaceful there.”

The room was spacious and spotless, and sleeping on the floor with a mattress turned out surprisingly comfortable; the host kindly escorted us to the ferry, though locating the place was a challenge that required a group of taxi drivers to guide us there.
