The facilities were brand‑new and of good quality, yet the three of us couples from the same family were each given the smallest rooms on the floor; I can’t help wondering if that was because we were French.

We skipped breakfast because we left for the airport before it opened. The TV service was not intuitive and it was hard to find channels, so we ended up not using the TV.

The hotel feels adorable, though the pool is smaller than I expected. Breakfast offered tasty bagels, cream cheese, and butter. Denny’s, a Mexican spot, and Starbucks are all within walking distance, and the location works well for getting around Austin, especially South Congress. The elevator could have been cleaner, and while parking in the hotel lot is free, locating a spot can be a hassle. Some staff were friendlier than others, but I liked most of them. My biggest gripe was that the room lacked a refrigerator and microwave.
