I’m a backpacker and Surfhouse is one of my favourite hostels; not because of any crazy furniture but because Lisa makes you feel at home. She helped with everything during the rainy season and we always got what we needed. What can be complicated elsewhere is easy at Surfhouse: booking communication (thanks to Charlotte!), check‑in, free towels, daily cleaning (which was really needed). Everything is super easy and calm. You can find what you need nearby and the beach isn’t far. It’s nice to be in the village/town because there are events like caipoera and places to go out. Overall, Surfhouse is spacious and cosy. The kitchen supplies everything you need and my little favourite is the rooftop; go there at night for an amazing sky view. They also offer yoga on Wednesdays for a small fee. The tours from their partner provider are recommended, even though their main customers aren’t backpackers.

The spot is fantastic – everything you need is just a short walk away. The staff were incredibly friendly and the rooms feel thoughtfully decorated. I spent a lot of time on the rooftop terrace, which is perfect for just hanging out or rolling out a yoga mat, which they provide.

The team was always around and genuinely pleasant, ready to help whenever we asked. The whole property was spotless and kept in excellent shape. We had a very good stay and would definitely choose this place again.

This youth hostel is clean and pleasant, with a nice terrace to relax on. The shared kitchen is tidy and handy for cooking your own meals. My room was comfortable, but the lack of air‑conditioning makes the summer heat noticeable.
