Nothing. The place was dirty, the bathroom was appalling, the sheets were filthy, breakfast was nonexistent even though it was supposed to be included and it was only offered at the bar.

I was far from the city center, contrary to what the description promised, and it took more than an hour by car to reach Rome. A family staying there made a lot of noise and kept us from sleeping. The room was filthy – hair on the bed, dust on the window and dresser, and no blanket, just a sheet to cover us. The shower had no hot water, and when turned on, water leaked all over the bathroom. There was no rug on the floor and no towel to dry off.

The owner was friendly and helpful, which was the only good thing, though I’m not sure how else it could have been, since I don’t think he’s ever been there! The main issue was that only the door to the room could be closed; the rest of the entry, including the gate, stayed open to anyone. The room was dirty, and the sofa bed was even messier. Some power outlets didn’t work. The bunk bed’s ladder was broken and unsafe for the kids. The TV had no signal. The bathroom was shared between two rooms, and we only found out after the owner called us that we could keep the key, but it was actually for two rooms. We had to buy cleaning and disinfecting supplies to clean the awful bathroom, which was full of trash left by previous guests. The description at booking didn’t make clear whether the bathroom was private or shared – it said both, and the last note after a lot of bathroom info said it should be private. The kitchen was advertised as having tea and coffee supplies, but it was filthy, full of ants, with a dirty sink and a pile of trash. The fridge had expired and spoiled food. I couldn’t use the shower because it was so bad, so I washed myself in the sink and bidet after cleaning it with my own products. Breakfast, which was supposed to be included and part of the Genius booking, wasn’t provided. We were told to use the tourist tax money to buy breakfast at the bar! I wonder if the registration of guests was even done, since the documents were never given. It was a shitty stay, but at least we left at 06:00 the next morning.
