The hotel sits on the riverbank and you can’t drive in; you have to walk from the nearest parking spot. Still, it’s close enough to the city center that walking down the riverbank gets you to the walled city in 10‑15 minutes. Lots of eateries are nearby, and a small shop is just a half block away.

There was no English speaking staff at all. Breakfast was supposed to be available, but the hotel looked abandoned or closed down; we felt alone in the building. No breakfast room existed, so it was served in the room, only a toast with egg and coffee.

The price‑to‑quality ratio was perfect. We received a room upgrade upon arrival. The room was very clean and matched the photos. The balcony view was amazing. The staff were friendly and helped with everything. Thanks to the hotel and the beautiful city of Fenghuang for the hospitality. Everything was 👍🏻

The location was great, right by the river, and the room was also good. I take a star off for the breakfast, which was horribly greasy.
