We were rebooked into a different apartment in town that turned out to be even better for us, with plenty of space and great rooms. There were a few dog hairs on the floor in the hallway, but nothing serious.

I can’t think of anything to describe; it was as lovely as it was two years ago.

Check‑in was easy, and the staff helped quickly when I had issues with the canal smell; the view was stunning, and the room temperature was just right.

The accommodation is an old Art Deco house with beautiful high ceilings and lovely windows in the stairwell; it’s completely quiet with a great view, and the kitchen is fully equipped (which I didn’t need). Unfortunately I didn’t realize it was a single room in a real apartment; at check‑in other guests were already in the apartment’s other rooms, which was a bit overwhelming at first, and a heads‑up would have been nice.

I could check in online and unlock the door with a PIN, no key needed. The room wasn’t clean – dust on the mirror, tables and shelves made my house‑dust allergy flare up, which was a real problem. The bed was only 1.40 m wide, too narrow for a double, and the pillows and blankets had no texture, they were flimsy and shapeless. There was a tobacco smell in the room, and when the heater was turned on it emitted a strong, cold‑smoke odor.
