The hotel is beautiful and definitely feels like a 5‑star, but it’s a bit far from town. The distance to town is the only downside.

“Perfect”

It was an intimate, very nice and cosy place with staff that were sweet, welcoming and excellent. I absolutely loved it. The beach is really close, and there are activities like ATV tours and scuba diving nearby. It’s not in the most touristy spot, but that’s hardly an issue because it’s close to the beach and other activities.

“Fantastic break.”

Facilities and staff were incredible, the location is very close to restaurants and only a 5‑minute walk to the beach. The pool bar and restaurant are great and much more upmarket than other bars in the area. Breakfast was good but could have been slightly better – the coffee from the machine was undrinkable, there was no freshly squeezed orange juice, and the hot food and protein options were somewhat limited (no salmon, eggs had to be ordered, etc). Small things, but not quite as good as other breakfasts at 5‑star hotels.

The staff were super friendly and welcoming, going out of their way to make you feel at home—offering towels and beach bags, and giving breakfast boxes for an early flight. I absolutely loved staying at Santa Mangata. Nothing else to note.
