The hostel is clean and quiet; the room is small but cozy; when paying, a code is sent to the email for contactless check‑in and check‑out; everything liked; from the station it’s convenient to get there by tram or a short walk if you have few items; we were satisfied with the stay; a small suggestion would be a tiny table in the kitchen so people from different rooms can eat together, and a microwave.

“Günstig aber nicht ohne Abstriche”

The accommodation was relatively cheap for Vienna, the location is quite good and close to the city center; the kitchen is adequately equipped and there are enough sinks; the common areas were usually tidy; however the radiator in our room was broken, so a temporary heater was probably set up, but it was too bright to leave on at night; in that context nobody could be reached by phone or WhatsApp despite many attempts; the showers have several defects – sometimes the door handle is broken, a rubber seal is missing, or the shower head holder is absent; some spots were dirty, especially at the edges of the room, under the bed and around the furniture; the room was larger than expected but cold and damp; the window of room 11 looks out onto a courtyard with many bike racks, so people keep appearing; the window can only be tilted because the bed blocks it; what bothered me most was the service, as nobody was reachable or responded, even though the heating was defective.

The hostel has eleven numbered rooms, and ours had three beds, so I guessed the capacity was somewhere between 22 and 33 guests. For that many people the bathrooms and common areas are totally inadequate. There are only three toilets, five generally accessible sinks (one inside a toilet cubicle) and a tiny kitchen. Seating is limited to two small tables with two chairs each, one of which sits right next to the entrance. During our week‑long stay only two of the three showers were usable; the third was closed for construction with no visible progress. That repair should have been finished much faster. The shower fittings are also poor: just a tiny tape‑tied hook and no rack for clothes, forcing you to lay items on the floor. Because the shower stalls don’t close properly and leak, clothes get wet. Add defective shower head brackets, an almost useless ventilation system, and puddles when leaving the leaky shower. The hallway is littered with paint residue on the baseboards from recent painting work—small fixes that could be handled easily. Instead of a third bed, a dresser or wardrobe for clothes would have made more sense. Bottom line: maximum occupancy clearly outweighs guest comfort here.
