The property was lovely, with plenty of garden to wander in, and we loved watching all the chickens and goats while we were there. Nothing else!

The place was lovely, with a great sauna, a very cold plunge, an awesome room, a small attached library, and a nice outdoor area for snacks and privacy in a shared home. Blair and Wendy were super accommodating and lovely people! I didn’t have change to pay the exact amount, so Wendy asked for a tip, then the next day she said she didn’t have change. I’m a generous tipper but I never tip those who ask, even in jest.

There was nothing to dislike about staying at McSaveneys. Blair and Wendy were generous, hospitable hosts who went out of their way to make our stay memorable. The house sits on 10 acres and is 15 minutes from the city centre, so having a car is a benefit. We used all the facilities – pool, sauna, gym – and were treated to fresh eggs every morning. Our room with lounge/en‑suite overlooking the garden was fabulous, and we had the kitchen available if we wanted to cook ourselves.

It was unique, not quite what I expected, but it was good. Still a lot of tidy‑up to do, but it sounds like they have that in hand.
