The room was still acceptable. The gentlemen were friendly (the one at the parking who handed out the keys). The other apartments looked very nice and clean. The ceilings were very high and pleasant. Nothing to do in the palace and no staff on site offering anything (drinks, etc.). The entrance was gloomy, damp, with a smell of cat urine. The spot in the medina isn’t ideal; there are no shops or restaurants nearby.

“The biggest jem of our trip”

I was blown away by the building’s sheer presence, and the room itself was cozy with a stunning view of the medina. Everything essential was provided, the décor was charming, and the staff were attentive—truly delightful, plus there’s private parking. Finding the place was a challenge at first; beware of locals on the street who might misdirect you toward the medina for a fee—just a safety heads‑up, not a complaint about the riad.

It was the first stop on our ten‑day Moroccan journey, and sleeping in such a historic palace was a real joy. You can order an excellent breakfast or a meal; the spot is quiet and well‑located, even for those walking like us. It’s truly magical. A heads‑up: Google Maps and other GPS apps mis‑locate the address—remember the GPS coordinates to avoid wandering aimlessly. Plan your arrival by checking the location online. If you want a taxi drop‑off, ask to be taken to the BAB ZIAT entrance. We wholeheartedly recommend this stay for anyone seeking a magical Moroccan palace experience.
