The location of this place is great - it's right near the city center, even if it is in a bit of a local neighborhood. Unfortunately, the site itself is a bit of a mess - it's dirty and neglected, and it's easy to get stuck without power or hot water. And to make matters worse, many of the rooms don't have windows, which can make it feel pretty humid and claustrophobic.
The room was a real gem, with a lovely balcony and high ceilings that made it feel spacious despite its compact size. The koi pond downstairs was a beautiful touch, and the location right by the citadel was perfect for exploring. However, the real letdown was the shower, which refused to produce hot water no matter how long we waited.
“Good location but not my best choice”
We were initially put off by the hotel's policy of asking for payment upfront, but the good location and comfy beds made up for it. Unfortunately, the room was a bit of a squeeze, with hardly any space to move around the beds, and there was no breakfast to speak of. We had to venture out to find some nearby cafes.
The one good thing about this place is that the owner is easy to get in touch with via WhatsApp. Unfortunately, that's about where the positives end - there's no window in the room, so the air quality is pretty bad, and it's also super humid. And to top it all off, I saw some cockroaches scurrying around.
The location of this place is pretty convenient - it's right next to the Imperial Citadel's back gate. However, it's worth noting that some of the gates inside the citadel are closed to cars at certain times, which can be a bit of a hassle. And be careful not to get stuck in the narrow streets!
