The staff were kind and promptly answered requests about water usage and room cleaning, and the room had plenty of power outlets, which was convenient. I wish there had been a kettle and a cleaning‑request tag.

The location near the train station and all the shops was convenient, but the photos were misleading—rooms were dirty with wall stains, sticky dust on unseen surfaces, a shower drain clogged with hair, exposed outlets, a pile of dust under the bed, sticky black marks on the office chair and doors, and mold in the shower that could be scraped off with zero effort. As an ex‑housekeeper, I felt the situation was unacceptable. I got stuck in an elevator that barely held up, which is a problem for me with my sclerosis; when I complained about having to climb 20 flights, they accused me of not requesting a ground‑floor room. I demanded a gesture or at least a night’s refund, but they offered breakfast instead, even though I had just raised hygiene concerns. I couldn’t leave because I lacked the strength and financial means, and I didn’t want to disappoint my daughter who was coming for a concert. I paid 136 euros via Booking and an additional 8 euros in taxes. I wasn’t looking for luxury, but hygiene is fundamental in any hotel regardless of price; you’re not looking for beauty, just a minimum level of comfort. I decided to end the stay because the linens were not washed by a proper company; I was reassured until I pulled the sheets to let the housekeeper in, only to find a blood stain on the yellow‑brown mattress topper. I also encountered rat droppings at the reception.

The morning receptionist was friendly and helpful, but the hotel’s long‑unmaintained state left the room looking dirty, worn out, and uncomfortable; the issue was not with housekeeping but with the furniture and fittings, which were old, heavily worn, and clearly past their useful life.

The hotel’s central location right next to the train station was great, and the furnishings were appealing; the staff were also very friendly and accommodating, making it a good value. However, the cleanliness was lacking—while the bed was clean, the shower and walls were not; there were also occasional alarms from neighbors during the day and night, which was quite disturbing.
